Delhi University Professor Hany Babu has been sent to National Investigation's custody till August 4, a day after he was taken in custody by the NIA in the Bhima Koregaon-Elgar Parishad case. His wife Jenny Rowena Wednesday said they will not be broken by his arrest and will fight the case in court. The NIA has accused 54-year old Hany Babu, an associate professor in the Department of English, of propagating Naxal activities and Maoist ideology and being a "co-conspirator" in the ElgarParishad case.
His wife Rowena, who teaches at Delhi University's Miranda House, has accused the police of fabricating the case. Police claims they have found an incriminating file on his computer. Questioning the police's claims she asked why would Babu keep the file on his computer if it incriminated him.
