What will trigger a recall?
A vehicle recall can be triggered if many consumers of a vehicle report similar type of problem.&nbsp;Wherever a minimum number of complaints, ranging from 100 to around 1,250 for different categories of vehicle against total sales of model is received on the vehicle recall portal, mandatory recall is to be initiated.
How is it different than existing policy?
Right now&nbsp;the recall of the defective vehicle is voluntary in India. Last year 3.7 lakh cars were recalled, which is the highest in 3 years.&nbsp;
How will it be implemented?
The rule comes into effect from April 1.&nbsp;Auto manufacturers &nbsp;may have to pay a penalty of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore if they fail to call back the defective vehicles even after a mandatory recall

CEO and founder Robert Dingemanse says that after beginning flying and driving tests in 2012, it has been a long, difficult journey to adapt the folded aircraft to pass all road admission requirements.
Stating that the&nbsp;vehicle had to be built keeping both air and road&nbsp;regulations in mind, Dingemanse&nbsp;added that the&nbsp;it was a jigsaw puzzle when it came to fitting all the regulations and various other requirements in one vehicle.
