West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday requested the central government to suspend the train and flight services from five worst Covid-hit states of the country to her state from the 6th of July. West Bengal chief secretary has sent a letter urging Railways to stop trains coming from the five worst-affected states to West Bengal in a bid to curb the spread of the disease. Mamata Banerjee asked the Centre to limit the domestic flights from other states to once a week. She said it is not possible to monitor all flights coming to the state as Civil Aviation Ministry didn't put any such mechanism in place. The five worst-hit states are Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
