'Didi Ke Bolo': Mamata's new outreach to cut BJP tide

Jul 29, 2019 15:36 IST

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has launched a massive outreach programme on Monday called 'Didi Ke Bolo' or 'Tell your sister'. Under the new scheme, a team will monitor the complaints lodged by the people of Bengal against any issue and will convey them to the Chief Minister, who will then personally respond to the complainants through social media. According to reports, the outreach programme was conceptualised by poll strategist Prashant Kishor.
"Over the next 100 days, more than 1,000 party leaders and workers will reach out to 10,000 villages in the state, spend days there with local people and try and address their grievances," Banerjee said.
