Dharavi recorded 42 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 including four deaths today, taking the total count of infected people in Asia’s biggest slum to 330. Of the four deceased, one male and female of 60 years had earlier tested positive at Sion Hospital. Among the latest to test positive are 33 men aged between 13 years and 74 years and 10 women aged between 26 years and 69 years. So far, 18 people have died because of complications related to Covid-19 in Dharavi, a sprawl of shanties spread over 240 hectares with a population of 8.5 lakh and over 13,000 small businesses.
