The Supreme Court and the Delhi High Court will hear a bunch of pleas relating to the north-east Delhi violence on Wednesday. The first plea was mentioned in SC on behalf of former Chief Information Commissioner Wajahat Habibullah and others who sought direction to the police to lodge FIRs in the ongoing violence over the Citizenship Amendment Act. The petitioners have sought adequate security to the women dissenters in Shaheen Bagh and other places and have accused controversial BJP leader Kapil Mishra of instigating violence in Jafaranbad. A similar plea filed by rights activist Harsh Mander and others was mentioned before the high court which seeks registration of FIRs and arrest of persons involved in the unfolding violence. The petition before the high court specifically seeks action against BJP leaders Anurag Thakur, Parvesh Verma and Kapil Mishra for allegedly making hate speeches and inciting violence.
