Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a slew of steps the govt is taking for the relief and rehabilitation of the people affected by violence in the northeast areas of the capital. People whose houses have been completely damaged are being shifted to the govt's night shelters and community centres. The state govt has also announced an interim compensation of Rs 25,000 for such people. They will be compensated further after assessment. Kejriwal also informed the press that 18 sub-divisional magistrates have been appointed along with night magistrates. Delh govt is also distributing food on a large-scale in the riot-affected areas.
