The Delhi Police has adopted a new strategy to stop farmers from marching into the Capital. As thousands of farmers started their march to Delhi from Fatehabad in Haryana on Thursday, Delhi Police has parked trucks filled with sand on the Singhu border to stop the farmers. Indian Express journalist Mahender Singh Manral tweeted pictures of sand-laden trucks blocking the highway. Delhi police has denied protest permission to farmers citing Covid-19 surge. Trains and buses between NCR towns have also been suspended till Thursday afternoon. The Delhi Metro also said that its trains will not cross borders into Noida, Gurugram and Faridabad till Thursday afternoon.
