Sena reminds BJP: we have remote control of 'Maha' power

Oct 27, 2019 17:01 IST

The tug-of-war between BJP and ally Shiv Sena over the formation of a new government in Maharashtra continued as Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut reminded the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led party that they have the 'remote control of power' in Maharashtra, despite having secured fewer seats in the Assembly elections compared to the BJP. In his column in the Sena mouthpiece 'Saamana', Raut added that taking Sena for granted will not work well for the BJP. Shiv Sena has won 56 seats in the 288-member Maharashtra assembly, while BJP won 105 seats in the recently concluded assembly elections. After the results, Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray had talked about a 50:50 power sharing formula between the two parties.
