Fourteen people have been confirmed dead in the United States after Hurricane Laura battered Louisiana and Texas. Most deaths have resulted from tress falling on houses while some have reportedly died from carbon monoxide poisoning due to unsafe operation of generators.
Winds of up to 240km/h caused severe damage, with power cuts affecting more than half a million homes.
Meanwhile, the White House has confirmed that President Donald Trump will travel to the affected regions on Saturday to meet with people struck by the hurricane.
Laura has now been downgraded to tropical storm status, but heavy rain continues to fall on several states.
