David Warner declared fit for World Cup opener

May 31, 2019 19:05 IST

In a huge relief for the Australian fans, opener David Warner was declared fit to play in their team's World Cup opener against Afghanistan on Saturday. Warner underwent a thorough fitness test on Thursday, after concerns that an upper leg injury might rule him out of the 1st game. The southpaw had missed Monday's warm-up match against Sri Lanka and was unable to train on Wednesday. But the 32-year-old is now all set to make a return to International cricket after a 1 year suspension.
