At least 3 people are reportedly dead in cyclone-related incidents in Maharashtra. Hours after making landfall, with windspeed to 120kmph, in Alibaug, the severe cyclonic storm has now weakened into a deep depression and moved towards Nashik with a reduced windspeed of 65-75 kmph. Several houses have been destroyed and power supply disrupted as trees and electric poles were uprooted due to the winds. In Mumbai, traffic was stopped on the Worli sea link as the city braced for the cyclone and flights, trains services were also suspended for hours. Limited damage has been reported from Gujarat as the cyclone changed its path.
