After conducting an aerial survey of cyclone-hit areas in West Bengal, PM Narendra Modi reached Odisha to take stock of the situation there. He was received by chief minister Naveen Patnaik and Odisha governor Ganeshi Lal at the Bhubaneswar airport. The Odisha government claimed that there has been no report of loss of human life due to the cyclone in the state. Naveen Patnaik had set a zero casualty target ahead of the cyclonic storm. However, about 44.8 lakh people in Odisha have been affected by the cyclone, significant damage has been reported from Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, and Balasore.
