Several essential documents were gutted in a fire that broke out in the office of the Delhi Transport Department near the Civil Lines metro station on Monday morning. No one was injured in the incident. The fire started from the server room on the first floor and spread to eight other rooms located on the same floor and then later to the second floor of the same building. Initial reports suggest a short circuit in an electrical appliance in the server room as the cause. In total, 26 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Several essential documents, furniture and electronic equipment were lost in the fire.
