The England and Wales Cricket Board has decided to further delay the start of professional domestic cricket season by a month. It means that the cricketing activities which were earlier delayed till July due to the pandemic will now remain suspended till August 1. However, ECB is likely to still host West Indies in July as scheduled. The board in a statement said that safety and well-being of everyone is their key priority. ECB has learnt a lot and continue to learn about the safety protocols that would need to be in place to stage international cricket behind closed doors in this environment. Few of English National team players had resumed training in batches earlier this month.
