Maharashtra govt has claimed that it is facing a Covid vaccine shortage amid a worrying spike in infections. Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Wednesday said he has informed the Centre about the shortage and that many inoculation centres have been forced to shut down owing to the crunch. Tope told NDTV that "state only has vaccine stock for 3 days". "Some centres are compelled to send people back because of lack of doses," he added. Mumbai's civic body BMC too has admitted that there is a shortage in the city and Covid shots are "about to" get over. Maharashtra is the worst hit state and reported over 55,000 cases on Tuesday.
