Covid spike: Centre issues fresh directive for Oxygen supply

Apr 22, 2021 15:34 IST | By Editorji News Desk

The Home Ministry has issued orders directing local authorities to allow free inter-state movement of vehicles carrying oxygen in order to facilitate uninterrupted supply of the vital gas across the country.

The order says that no restriction, including that of timings, shall be imposed on the movement of medical oxygen between states and cities. State authorities have been directed not to impose any restrictions on oxygen manufacturers and supplies to limit supplies only to the hospitals of states/UTs they are based in.

No authority shall attach the oxygen-carrying vehicles passing through the district or areas for making supplies specific to any particular districts or areas, the order said.
