The Covid-19 pandemic has made it absolutely important to ensure that our surroundings and surfaces are sanitised and clean at all times. The Food Safety and Standards Authority India (FSSAI) has listed three simple steps to ensure that your kitchens and homes are safe. It is important to wash kitchen counters, slabs and the stove at least once everyday with water and detergent to ensure utmost hygiene as this is the place meals are prepared. Once preparation is over and the food is cooked, it is a good practice to once again clean everything up thoroughly including the gas stove. Every utensil and equipment being used in the kitchen, must be disinfected using water and detergent after every use.
