Covid-19: Serie A clubs agree to 30% wage cut

Apr 07, 2020 13:31 IST

Keeping in mind the financial crunch due to Covid-19 pandemic, the Italian top-flight football clubs have decided to cut the salaries of its players, coaches, and staff. The clubs have unanimously decided to a wage reduction if the season gets cancelled and a smaller amount if the matches resume. However, the players' association has rejected the proposal and called it unmanageable. The pact was in agreement with 19 out of 20 clubs as Juventus didn't agree to the terms as they had earlier announced a wage cut for their players and coach.
