Apr 03, 2020 13:10 IST

In a bid to help the nation, India's lone woman Paralympic medalist, Deepa Malik has started an initiative 'Happy Janta Kitchen' to provide cooked food to daily wagers amid the ongoing lockdown. Her NGO, Wheeling Happiness foundation is actively involved in the initiative which has been serving food in Kanpur and is set to start operations in Amethi and Noida. With the help of local volunteers, the 49 years old who won a silver in shot put at the 2016 Rio Games said that they distribute a minimum of 100 packets daily in Kanpur with the help of authorities and is looking forward to doing the same in different cities.
