The Maharashtra government on Wednesday announced an extension of lockdown in the state till January 31 in view of the emergence of a new coronavirus strain in the United Kingdom
The activities already allowed and permitted from time to time shall be continued, the govt circular stated. However, the lockdown curbs will be strictly followed in containment zones.
Previously, the Maharashtra government had imposed a night curfew in all the municipal areas of the state. The curfew is in place from 11 pm to 6 am till January 5.
Maharashtra is the worst hit state from coronavirus in the country with 19,25,066 cases and 49,373 fatalities.
