Covid-19 impact: Big rise in Manchester United's net debt

May 26, 2020 16:01 IST

Coronavirus has financially hit almost all the sports clubs around the world and one of the richest football clubs, Manchester United, too couldn't avoid its wrath. The English Premier League side saw their net debt rise by 42% in the first three months of 2020, compared to the same period last year. The club now has a net debt figure of USD 524 million. United's latest financial results run until the end of March when the Premier League was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic from the 13th of that month.
