For the first time ever in the history of Cotton University, a girl candidate Rishikanya Batsaw of Assamese Department of Cotton University will be contesting for the post of General Secretary in this year's Students' Union Election 2019. 

Notably, 38 candidates will be contesting for 16 coveted posts in the Cotton University Students' Union Election this year.

On the other hand, Sukanya Baruah will be contesting for the post of Cultural Secretary this year. 

The results for the Cotton University Students' Union Election will be declared on October 3, 2019
