Congress getting weak: party's 'dissenters' say in J&K

Feb 27, 2021 19:15 IST | By Editorji News Desk

Members of the G-23 - a group of senior leaders who have questioned the Gandhis' leadership, gathered on Saturday in J&K.  The objective was to send a sharp reminder to the party's central leadership ahead assembly elections in five states. The group had written a strongly worded letter to Sonia Gandhi over the party's leadership crisis last year.

The Congress is "getting weak" and needs to strengthened, senior party leader Kapil Sibal said. Apart from Sibal, the group that took to the stage at public event in J&K included Ghulam Nabi Azad, Anand Sharma, Bhupinder Singh Hooda among others. ‘Our voice is for the betterment of the party. It should be strengthened everywhere once again’, Anand Sharma said. The gathering was met with a careful response from the Congress.  Abhishek Manu Singhvi urged his colleagues to focus on working in poll-bound states.
