Comedian Surleen Kaur landed in legal trouble after ISCKON filed a complaint against her and entertainment company Shemaroo over comments made by her about ISCKON and Hinduism in a video. ISKCON vice president and spokesperson Radharaman Das has alleged in a letter to the Mumbai Police Commissioner that Kaur's comments are highly objectionable and defamatory and it has caused great pain to the followers of Sanatan Dharma, Hindus, and ISKCON devotees worldwide. Shemaroo meanwhile has taken down the video and issued an apology saying that they are committed to ensuring that their content is neutral and unbiased towards any religion, caste, creed, or culture. The media company has also disassociated itself with Surleen Kaur saying she has failed to meet their standards of public decency.
