India has recorded its biggest single day spike so far in coronavirus cases with close to 8,000 new infections. In the last 24 hours, the number of coronavirus cases in India went up by 7,964 to over 1 lakh 73 thousand, including over 86,000 active cases, according to the health ministry data on Saturday morning. The country also witnessed 265 deaths in the last 24 hours&nbsp;due to the pathogen to take total fatalities to 4,971. Over 82,000 people have recovered from Covid infection so far.

Javadekar, after a meeting with representatives of OTT platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar and Alt Balaji, also said that they have welcomed the government's new guidelines.
