Climate change could effect babies' hearts

Jan 31, 2019 17:10 IST

A new study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association, reveals that a pregnant woman's exposure to increased temperatures, due to climate change, could result in congenital heart defects ( CHDs) in the newborn. This could hold true specially for women pregnant through spring and summer months. The defect could hurt the baby's 'overall health' and impact body development. The study indicates the impact that climate change may have on reproductive health.
