Chinese students wear '1-metre hats' to maintain distance

Apr 29, 2020 14:59 IST

As schools in China reopen almost three months after a lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, students have been instructed to wear 'social distancing hats'. These one-metre hats have three-feet-long sticks jutting out from the sides to maintain appropriate distance with classmates. Photographs of students wearing these hats and masks were shared on social media and netizens compared the hats to head gears worn during the Song Dynasty! The idea was suggested by Yangzheng Primary School in Hangzhou in China.
