There has been a flare-up in Ladakh again with renewed Chinese aggression along the LAC. Coming two and a half months after the deadly Galwan clash and amid diplomatic and military efforts to restore peace, the incident took place on the night of August 29-30. A ministry of defence press note stated that "the Chinese troops carried out provocative military movements to change the status quo." The statement added: ""Indian troops pre-empted this PLA activity on the Southern Bank of Pangong Tso Lake, undertook measures to strengthen our positions and thwart Chinese intentions to unilaterally change facts on ground," it said.
