The Uttarakhand govt has decided to begin the Chardham Yatra for Uttarakhand residents only from July 1. The govt has issued an elaborate list of SOPs for the pilgrimage amid the Covid crisis. People from containment zones, quarantine centres & other states won't be allowed to take part in Yatra this year. There is also a limit on the number of pilgrims. Only 1200 yatris will be allowed at Badrinath, 800 at Kedarnath, 600 at Gangotri and only 400 will be allowed at Yamunotri.
