CBSE releases 'cyber safety manual' for students

May 20, 2020 18:33 IST

In an effort to deal with rampant cyberbullying concerns and inculcate safe online habits, the Central Board of Secondary Education has created a cyber safety manual for students of class 9 through 12. As classroom teaching gets shifted online amid the health crisis and the use of the Internet is at all-time high among youngsters, the manual will help children understand the nine elements of digital citizenship — digital access, literacy, communication, etiquette, health and wellbeing, rights, freedom and responsibility, security and law. The manual has been developed in collaboration with Cyber Peace Foundation and covers topics like social exclusion, intimidation, defamation, emotional harassment and more.
