The images from the Capitol Hill of a mob of Trump supporters storming the building and unleashing an unprecedented violence shocked the world. The protesters clashed with the police, breached the barricades and scaled up the walls of the Capitol Hill as they invaded the chambers where lawmakers met to certify Joe Biden's election win. Carrying Trump flags and MAGA hats, the crowds wreaked havoc inside the building breaking glasses and other structures. Security personnel scrambled to shield the lawmakers from the Trump mob and secure the building. It was the most damaging attack on the iconic building since the British army burned it in 1814, according to the US Capitol Historical Society.
