Brits to plant trees to mark Queen Elizabeth's 70 years on the throne

To celebrate Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee in February 2022, Britons will be urged to plant trees. The 94-year-old will complete 70 years on the throne. On the occasion the government is planning celebrations spanning four days. As a part of the green project called 'The Queen's Green Canopy', communities, schools, councils will be encouraged to plant native trees. UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson stated that the pandemic has reminded people of the importance of greenery.
