'Bridging' the gap: Kerala teachers hold classes for migrant kids

    Jun 19, 2020 10:45 IST

While schools across the country remain closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, teachers of St. John Bosco's UP School in Kochi are doing their bit to impart education. On every working day, a group of teachers holds classes under the Bolgatty-Vallarpadam bridge for the children of migrant labourers from Mysuru. Classes are scheduled every 11 am till 12:30 pm, after which the children accompany their families for fishing, their main source of income. At least seven children take these classes every day and they hope to teach more.
