The Boston Marathon has now been cancelled for the year 2020 due to the pandemic scare, the organisers confirmed on Thursday. The Marathon was originally scheduled to take place in April but before cancellation it was shifted to take place in September. The event draws more than 30,000 runners each year and it will be for the first time in its 124-year history that it has been cancelled. The 2021 Boston Marathon is scheduled to take place on April 19.
