Online ticketing platform BookMyShow has either laid-off or furloughed 270 employees across its offices in India and globally, which make up over 18 per cent of its workforce. The company founder and CEO Ashish Hemrajani said in a letter to employees that those taking ‘leave without pay’ will be offered medical insurance, gratuity and other benefits while the others that were handed pink-slips will receive a severance pay “equivalent to a minimum of 2 months of salary”. The remaining team members have reportedly taken salary cuts ranging from 10 per cent to 50 per cent, given up their bonuses and all salary raises.
