PM Modi extends Onam greetings: unique festival that spreads harmony

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted to greet people on the occasion of Onam on Monday.

His tweet read, this is a unique festival which celebrates harmony, it is also an occasion to express gratitude to our hardworking farmers.

Prime Minister's tweet was accompanied by a video clip of his Sunday's Mann ki Baat where he mentions that Onam is turning out to be an international festival, being celebrated abroad as well.

Kerala is celebrating Thiru Onam on Monday, the main day in the ten-day Onam festival, traditionally marking a bumper harvest. Onam celebrations are muted in Kerala this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
