Wardrobe designer Ruth E. Carter, who won an Oscar for her work on "Black Panther," got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday, becoming only the second costume designer and the first African-American artist to receive the honour.
The ceremony, which usually takes place in person was streamed due to pandemic restrictions where Oprah Winfrey and Eddie Murphy both paid tribute to Carter in the virtual ceremony.
Over her career, Carter has worked on 60 films including Malcolm X, The Butler, Marshall, Five Heartbeats, and School Daze.
