Former minister and senior BJP leader Manoj Sinha has been appointed the new Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. Sinha will replace Girish Chandra Murmu who had resigned from the post on Wednesday amid the buzz that he may be the next Comptroller and Auditor General of India. GC Murmu was the first L-G of the newly carved union territory of J&K. Manoj Sinha was the minister of state for railways in the Modi govt's first tenure. Sinha has been a 3-term Lok Sabha MP. He was defeated by BSP's Afzal Ansari in last year’s Lok Sabha polls from Ghazipur.
