India's former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar turned 71 on Friday and on his birthday the former skipper decided to sponsor heart surgeries for 35 kids. The former Indian captain has pledged to help the children through the Heart to Heart Foundation. He chose the number 35 as it signifies the number of centuries he scored for India. The Little Master is considered one of the best batsmen of his era had helped India win the 1983 World Cup. He was also the first batsman to score 10,000 Test runs and held the record for the most number of Test tons till 2005.
