Amid an alert in 25 districts of Bihar, at least 20 people have been killed following heavy rains in the state since Friday. The Meteorological Department has issued red alert in 15 districts and orange alert in 10 districts. The state’s capital Patna woke up to submerged streets owing to overnight rains causing trouble to the commuters. Water entered houses, hospitals and government office with NDRF, police and teams of army joining the relief and rescue operation. Due to incessant rains, the Ganga is in spate and has also caused widescale damage in neigbouring Uttar Pradesh where over 70 people have died in rain-related incidents in three days.
