Biggest single day spike: Delhi reports over 19,400, Maha sees nearly 64,000 new Covid cases

India continues to be battered by the fresh wave of Covid-19.With over 19,000 fresh cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, Delhi has once again broken its record of highest single-day tally of infections. Delhi reported 19.486 Covid cases in the last 24 hours. The national capital also reported 141 deaths, which is its biggest one-day Covid death count. The fresh spike has pushed Delhi's total caseload to 8,03,623, including 61,005 active cases. The infection rate in Delhi currently stands at 19.69 per cent.

Menawhile, Maharashtra has logged 63,729 infections in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra now stands at 37,03,584. The state also reported 398 new deaths, taking the Covid-19 death toll to 59,551.
