US President-elect Joe Biden is likely to nominate Indian American Neera Tanden as director of the Office of Management and Budget, the Wall Street Journal has reported. Tanden is currently the chief executive of the Center for American Progress. If the reports are confirmed, would be the first woman of colour to be the budget chief. Another first for a woman of colour in Biden’s team may be Cecilia Rouse, a Princeton University labor economist. The African American economist is likely to be named the chairwoman of Council of Economic Advisers.
