BCCI to retain T20 World Cup rights, even if it moves to the UAE

Apr 30, 2021 15:53 IST | By Editorji News Desk

As the Covid-19 pandemic ravages India, the UAE has emerged as the new destination for the ICC World T20 which is scheduled to take place in India later this year. According to BCCI, the tournament might go to the UAE but the richest cricket board in the world will retain the hosting rights of the tournament. The World Cup T20 scheduled between October 18th & November 15th could move to the United Arab Emirates if the Covid-19 situation in the country does not improve. As per BCCI, taking the tournament to the UAE is the contingency plan, and not a swap with Australia, who will host the 2022 T20 World Cup.
