The ICC Test Championship which started in August last year saw Bangladesh Cricket Board cancelling a total of 8 Tests because of the pandemic. The Board has now asked ICC on Sunday to extend the World Test Championship cycle and also said that there was no other way to play those matches in the stipulated time frame of the first cycle. These Tests include one away match against Pakistan in April, a 2-match Test series against Australia in June, 2 Tests against New Zealand and 3 against Sri Lanka. The World Test Championship is a 2-year cycle that comprises of 9 of the 12 Test-playing nations. But, because of the pandemic, the Championship has come to a standstill since March.
