The Congress has appointed cricket turned politician Mohd Azharuddin working president of its Telangana unit. The announcement has come amid poll campaign in the state where the Congress is attempting to unseat TRS from power. Azharuddin, who won Moradabad Lok Sabha seat in 2009, lost from Tonk in Rajasthan in 2014. He has reportedly told party that he wants to contest from Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat in Telangana in 2019.
