In a significant breakthrough, scientists in Australia have recreated the coronavirus in a laboratory. The move, they claim, may help accurately investigate and diagnose the mystery virus and possibly help create a vaccine. The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity created it through a patient's sample who arrived at a hospital in Melbourne on the 24th of January. The new discovery will be shared with the World Health Organisation and other labs across the world. One lab in China also grew the virus but only released its genome sequence.
