Aussies need Smith-Warner: Paine admits after MCG loss

Dec 30, 2018 18:47 IST

Australian Test captain Tim Paine admitted that the Aussies desperately needed Steve Smith and David Warner, after a humiliating 137-run defeat against India in the Boxing day test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. "It's pretty clear, if you take 2 or 3 of the best players out of anyone's lineup in the world, you're going to struggle a little bit at times and have inconsistent performances. If you've got world-class players that aren't in your team, are they going to add to our team? I think they will.", Paine said.
