Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that he was attacked by his own party people as he pushed for elections in the youth organisation and student organisation of the party.
During a virtual interaction with Prof Kaushik Basu of Cornell University Gandhi said that democratic election within the party is absolutely critical but asked as to why no other party, be it BJP, BSP, or Samajwadi Party, is questioned over its internal democracy.
His comments come in the wake of the 'Group of 23' party leaders' call for systemic changes and democracy within the Grand Old Party.
