South African cricket board has appointed Temba Bavuma as the new captain of the national ODI & T20 cricket teams. Bavuma is now the first black captain in the history of South African cricket. Calling it a deeply significant moment, Bavuma said that he was determined to do justice to the job as both captain and player. Bavuma replaces Quinton de Kock as the captain who has been given a mental health break by the board after a poor run as both a player and captain of the side. Dean Elgar meanwhile has been appointed as the leader of the Test team.
